There's now seven days before my orientation, but I'm still "It's too far away" before counting down to the day that I move to Merced. But someone else on Facebook who's also going to UCM thinks otherwise and started counting down today, so I am inadvertently counting down through her. So, today was the first time I have seen any sort of "__ days before UCM!" anywhere.
I learned today that there's 42 days before I ship off.
And while it seemed like 42 days might be early to start talking about moving away, I realized that is not very much. A month and 12 days. I mean, I've been dating Phuc for 3.701 years and that's seriously just flown by. Like woosh. It's gotten to the point that we've lost track of the months for "Happy __ year and __ month anniversary!" when the 28th of the month comes around, and changed it to a simple, "Happy 28th!" But, after 3.701 years I must say that I am really proud that we have never missed a 28th. ..I'm getting off-topic.
Anyhoo, I saw sunshine for the first time in a couple of days today (..i'm not addicted to zoo tycoon) and it hit me (yes, after four years) that I never realized how big San Jose was until after I moved here. After a couple of times around town, Phuc and I have come to the point that we would sometimes waste half our day together deciding where to go. And after visiting Merced, I learned that San Jose is like a super mega giant place in comparison to Merced. So each time I move, I go to a smaller city. At least Sac/Elk Grove weans me off of big city San Jose in preparation for small town Merced. xd
ALSO, after I move, all my residences will form a triangle!
??!??!
Am I the only one that finds that insanity. Perfect triangle. I think it goes without saying that it was unintentional, because who chooses a college based on making a perfect triangle out of her residences? Because I sure didn't. ..Even if that does sound like something I would do.
I am almost willing to bet money that I will somehow find my way back to San Jose just to complete the triangle. Or I will move somewhere south and form a diamond. Or live everywhere until I can create a star. Or a happy face. .. Or a portrait of Bob Hope.
I'm totally not moving away as far as my homies going to Cal Poly, UCSD, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA....... ALL THOSE SOUTHERN COLLEGES, but yeah. Big deal for me.
Finally forming the perfect triangle is admittedly one of the reasons. I wonder if Stockton and Manteca and all those jazzy cities in the center are invitations to go there all the time or a warning to stay away. Like how you shouldn't go into the Bermuda Triangle.
