Month: January 2010

  • Hii.

Two more days until my birthday!  :o   The weird age of 19.  Both 18 and 20 are milestones of birthdays -- one of legal adulthood and the other wields the epic change of the decade digit from 1 to 2.  I definitely don't feel like a year older.  Mebbe I will in two days!  oho

Most of my friends are at their respective UCs, so I'm just gonna spend Thursday with my parents and get dinner somewhere or summin'.  Phuc is coming back from Davis this weekend, so we're gonna try to do something, too! But I did manage to have a birthday dinner with Thanh, Sandra, Phuc, and Chau before they (except Thanh, who is still also on his winter break) all left back to college.  Among the awesome presents they all got me, Chau and Sandra made me this awesome collage to hang on my wall in Merced!  :)

I'm running out of things to say. I might come back later today to share more, but I will say that I got SO much chocolate for Christmas and now I've been breaking out endlessly. Very worth it. Love Lindor truffles. Love 'em.

    Bye for now!

  • "I got you a journal!  ...Actually, I got you two of them: my left ear, and my right ear.  Fire away."

    Hullooo.

So this site has been fairly dead.  It's partially because throughout the semester, I would open the weblog editor and think, "I could be studying Chemistry instead of doing this."  But it's winter break now, so I can't use that as an excuse anymore.  Instead I've just been lazyyy.  But also because I've been telling Phuc about the details of my days and my mind wavelengths, so blogging would always be like saying it all a second time.

But Phuc's back in Davis now while I have two weeks left before I move back to Merced, so here we are again.  And happy new year!  I spent New Year's being helplessly sick but between symptoms, I managed to go to a last dinner with Phuc, Thanh, and Crystal before UC Davis started classes.

It's really nice to be lounging in my room in Sacramento again.  As a recap for the couple of months that I haven't been blogging:  My Chemistry I class was hellish, but I managed to scrape through the class with a B-, although I'm hoping to perform MUCH better in my classes next semester.  D:<  I'm gonna whup next semester!  Rah!  And as the semester progressed, I became more and more homesick.  :[  Merced started making me feel really unimportant when everyone started to realize how they like the super outgoing roommate way more than ol' socially awkward and shypie Christa, and I found myself unable to be comfortable around anyone there because everyone there kept making fun of me and all my oddisms, and I got so tired of it until I just wanted to go home.  :(   The semester ended on a good note though, but overall I'm really hoping to change things up next semester.  Because I really don't want to spend my time at UC Merced just waiting for when I can leave.  :/

So that kind of sums up a couple of my resolutions for this year.  But in convenient bullet form:
    - not letting those buttholes get to me anymore
    - (in the words of Amber) to make close, irreplaceable friends
    - to whup my classes from here on out
    - to believe in myself!  ohohoho!

    also:
    - to work out more
    - stop getting fat .-.
    - abuse the student services at the college
    - relationship goal: have a nice valentine's day with phuc
    - stay with phuc!

I think the typical pressures of the long-distance relationship have been getting to me.  I've been deflecting my frustration with Merced onto Phuc and it's difficult for both of us to deal with.  But Phuc has been great, and we're gonna truck through this.  Hopefully.  pew pew pew

    My other 2010 resolutions:
    - learn card magic tricks
    - get sweet at poker
    - get sweet at make-up
    - manage my monies better
    - keep up with all my favorite shows :)

By the way, MY BIRTHDAY'S IN THREE DAYS.  Although my parents already got me my present (a new MP3 player since my iPod broke) and I already had my birthday dinner with my friends (so that we could celebrate before the quarter-system UCs started), this is like... birthday #3 now.  xd

Today's lesson:  "Your life is an occasion.  Rise to it."  Also that Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium has a lot of deep, memorable quotes for a movie called Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.

    i'd sooner buy defying gravity

    Bye for now!
