Month: June 2009

  • D:

If Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon, and Billy Mays (which I think is crazy because he was just on The Tonight Show last week) weren't enough, today my goldfish Munchie died!  D:  Oh nooo!

He was lethargic all day yesterday, so I spent a lot of yesterday saying goodbye, then he died today.  My parents weren't there for the flushing moment because my dad didn't see the point and my mom thought it was gross, but Phuc stayed on the phone with me.  I wasn't sad about Munchie dying until after I flushed him watched him disappeared into the great abyss, after owning him for more than two years.

    I lub you Munchieeeeee!
    April 11, 2007 - June 28th, 2009

Since Munchie became sick yesterday, I've been extremely pet nostalgic recently.  I've been pouring memories to Phuc about Algernon, my fish, and my kitties soo much.  Oh, Munchie!  I lub you.

And oh, Billy Mays, because I laughed out loud so much when I watched him and Anthony Sullivan on The Tonight Show last week, one of his last appearances on TV:

"I had a weak back about a week back!"
    :)

BUT, on a good note, happy 28th!  :D

if you say you're mine, i'll believe you every single time

    Bye for now!

  • Rawr!

I bought banana flavored ice cream today and it blows my mind, I love it so much.  Yey!

I went biking with my parents today and it went really really well!  My parents just think that I'm really pro learnface because I failed to mention that I practiced by myself for two hours the day before, 'cos they'd probably go, "wut u could've hit deh house and break your bones ahh!"  Otherwise, I did like ten laps around this parking lot near my house before I started getting nauseous.  keke.  Yay!

I've been hitting it off really well with my roomie-to-be, Dani, who I'm going to meet for the first time on move-in day, and I'm so exciiiited.  She's been really cool, funny, and friendly so far.  :)   But she's super smart prosauce cos her high school was on a college campus, so she's already finished a year's worth of college courses.  Super prosauce.  BUT, maybe at my learning rate I can join her when she takes cycling classes on campus.  XD

In other news, Jim and Pam from The Office are soooo cute.  Gah!

    raise your hopeful voice

    Bye for now!

  • Hello!

First off, of course, kudos to Michael Jackson.  I've been on a roll for the last week, blogging everyday, but yesterday it almost seemed in bad taste to write about anything except Michael Jackson considering the global grieving for him.

If nothing else, my personal feelings about Michael Jackson's death is proof that when you lose someone, you think of nothing but the good things that they've done.  I spent the last few years acknowledging that he's made great music but could only really think about his controversial lifestyle, but after his death it was vice versa, where I can only really think about his contributions to music and people's lives.

I know a small handful of people who are seriously MAJOR wrecks from Michael Jackson's death, mourning and sobbing, so my planned blog about my bike-riding experiences seemed kind of petty.

BUT, while we happen to be on that note (like that transition?), I have been finally learning to ride a bike at the age of 18.  But at least I beat my sister.

I'm going car-less freshman year at UCM, because our van broke down so my mom needs my car to drive to work and whatnot until she buys another car.  And I'm not going to be attending one of those campuses where downtown is steps away from campus.  Bless UCM's heart, but the campus is 5 miles away from anything in town, and that just ain't walking distance for Christa.  It just ain't.  So I decided that I needed to finally learn to ride a bike, for days that the school's bus system closes, before and after bus hours, when it's faster to bike there than wait for the next bus to come, whenever I decide I really need to lose some weight so I might as well bike there, stuff like that.

And so yesterday, Phuc fixed up and let me have one of his old bikes, since he bought his super nice bike for UCD and 'cos the bike he gave me has a broken gear.  And 'cos I'm his girlfriend. 8D  So yesterday, my mom and I abused the street outside my house, which went swell until my mom yelled at me that I was doing it wrong and I felt completely bummed out and inadequate by the end of the session.  Lol.

So today, I practiced by myself and I'm starting to really get the hang of it!  I finally achieved.. riding in a straight line for more than five seconds.  Lol.  But any slope uphill or downhill that is more than like 5 degrees beats me up bad.  D:  But yay.

When I become badass bike-rider like all of you that learned when you were like, 8, and slopes and turns of all sorts stop pwning me, I may buy a real bike sometime during the school year.  :D

just kiss me baby and tell me twice that you're the one for me

    Bye for now!

  • Hohoho!

    What's Your True Birth Month?
Since, who is actually born in January for real?  Meee!  Omgah!  8D  Ohohoho!

Anyhoo, I just finished taking the Chemistry placement test for UCM in a flurry of spontaneity.  Over the past week, Dani and Company had been telling me that the Chemistry test was easy and whatnot and that I didn't need to panic about it, so today while I was about to study more Chem, I decided: "I'm going to take the Chemistry test!"  My logic was that it was all good since it was apparently easy, and that "if I'm not ready to take it now, when am I EVER going to be ready to take it?" (even though so i've only gotten to the second chapter of my chem review book and halfway in my chem notebook, so i'd probably be ready when i finished those..)

Then when I opened the test, everything looked so foreign I wanted to cry.  LOL.  >_>!!!!!!!

BUT, in a wave of Christa Awesomeness, things looked a lot better after I read the questions thoroughly and they made sense, lol.  And the test did end up not being all that difficult like Dani said.  I ended up getting a 90%, so yay!  Qualified for college-level chemistry!

I'm definitely going to study harder than my "why not just take it now!" approach for my math test, because soo many people from UCM are barely failing the math test.  D:!  You need a 20/25 to get into Calculus I, and a lot of people have been getting 18's and 19's.  *fear*!!!  I need so much pep talk for this.  ;-;!

On another note entirely, I became instantly infatuated with New Zealand yesterday, sort of.  I just knew that Legend of the Seeker was filmed in New Zealand, but yesterday was the first time I saw photos of parts of the islands not intended to portray the ravaged lands controlled by the tyrant Darken Rahl.  And it was pretty breathtakingly stunning.

It captivated me partially because it was the first and only time I have ever had an immense desire to travel abroad to anywhere.  I've always thought that Europe was pretty cool, that one day I should visit Vatican City, that it'd be nice to go back to the Philippines someday, but all my adored dream destinations of my life have all been within the United States so far.

So I'm going to get to know New Zealand over the next few years, but it has extreme potential for beating up Disneyworld as my honeymoon destination should my affection for it last long enough.  DISNEYWORLD.  You know it's a big deal when I'm reconsidering DISNEYWORLD.  Disney has a head start on New Zealand by like two years though, so New Zealand needs to be preeetty impressive.

    Disneyworld!

what if I gave all my life to find some way to stand beside you?

    Byez for now.

  • @w@!

With college ever looming before me, I've been thinking about my future more.

Like how much I want a pet in every room.  Fish in the bedroom, hermit crab in the bathroom, guinea pig in the living room.  Or hamster.  ..or bunny.  The kitchen isn't a place for pets, but I want a kitty that is allowed to go throughout the house, so since the kitty can go through the kitchen.. kitty can be kitchen-designated.  Yes.  Or I can keep a bird there.  Or a turtle.  Omg.

And since I was 12, my goal has been to have a house with an a-MAZE-ing bathroom.  I've imagined it with a spa connected to the rest of the bathroom by a bridge over a river of koi.  That's how hardcore my bathroom must be.  I plan on bringing my dream to fruition when my children move out, and I will tear down the walls between their rooms and turn it into an amazing bathroom.  Imagine the resale value on the house with 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom that is the size of 3 bedrooms.  Yes.

    YES.

sing your melody, i'll sing along

    Bye for now!

  • Meow.

My nerdiness shined last night and this afternoon.  I was anguished (like I often am) over the poor-quality stub for Monterey Trail High School on Wikipedia (no offense to whoever's contributed to the page in the past), so I took the liberty of building up the page myself.  It was a very busy 6ish-hour task, and now after never touching any Wikipedia page ever, I suddenly know very much of the Wiki page language.  So it might've been nerdy to work on Wikipedia so much, but I call it Mustang Pride.  Lol.

Of course, there's a lot about the school I lack knowledge in, but I tried to put in something about everything.  If there's something that needs to be changed or added, you definitely don't need to ask me to change it.  Wikipedia can be edited by anyone!  :O

After I told my parents about my bicycle-learning experience at Thanh's graduation party, my parents have decided to buy me a bike.  ..so i can learn to ride a bike.  >_>.  The thing is, since I don't actually know how to ride a bike, they're not willing to spend very much.  Like anything over $20 is over their limit.  Under $10 is their goal price.  Which I think is actually understandable considering that I can't ride a bike.  However, as hard as it is to find a bike anywhere for under $10 that isn't an abandoned bike on the side of the street, my parents still have expectations for the bike besides "as long as i can ride it, it's good" for a < $10 bike ("the frame has to be a V!").  Ambitious.

The more Sanrio stickers I have, the happier.

BTW, I actually did study for my placement tests today.  Believe it or not!

    she's always buzzin' like neon

    Bye for now!

  • Face!

This week is pizza week.  My parents have been building upon their collection of pizza coupons, and we've been redeeming them throughout the week.  Frozen pizzas, Pizza Hut, and today we're going to bake up some Papa Murphy's for Father's Day (happy father's day!).  I was the Pizza Baker yesterday and the pizza turned out totally awesome.  Go me.  Yes.

I'm proud of all my similar successful cooking experiences so much that I go, "Oooh, cool!" whenever I see cooking academy commercials on the TV, but I can't make anything that isn't cupcakes or pie or general desserts from scratch, and I haven't even made cupcakes since my traumatic Too Many Eggs, OMG This Tastes So Eggy experience a couple of months ago.  I'm not a very good cook, but cooking is awesome.

I'm very apprentice to the apprentice of the Jack of All Trades.  I like dipping into a lot of things, but I'm not very good at any of them (I'm sure there's an actual phrase for that, instead of what I used, lol).  Like cooking (but I can make a mean oreo pie), knitting (can only make a scarf, lol.. or things of block shape), piano, having pets (i lub them but i forget to clean habitats), programming (oh, AS2 coding!), going green, or keeping my room in order.  BUT, I am getting there in drawing and I admittedly like US History.  More than I prolly should.  I had a fling with photography and stamp-collecting, but those were short-lived.  I do still have a thing for being awesome, though.  8D!

    Oh, and for bunnies.  Cuuute.

And for being jealous of every school that has a Home Economics class.  I am so all over all that cooking/sewing/homemaking business.  I want to be very wifely when.. I am a wife.  Lol.

On that note, I was watching that episode of The Office with Phyllis's wedding, where Dwight was hunting for a wedding crasher.  So, I imagined what it would be like if a wedding crasher was at my wedding (and if you've been around me recently you probably know how much i am ALL over my Dream Wedding) and choked up a little in heartbreak.  So if you crash my wedding it will make me cry and so everyone will hate you for ruining my special day.  SO DON'T DO IT.  *anguish, anguish, anguish*

I'm getting a little mad just thinking about it.  D:<

k, I really need to start studying again.  >_>!

be not afraid, i go before you always

    Bye for now!

  • Rahh!

My peeps from Ocala Middle School in San Jose have been graduating this week, and seeing them in their blue, white, red, purple, and all the whatnot color gowns make me feel all the more >__> that I might be the only one from Ocala whose high school graduation gown is almost the exact same color as their middle school graduation gown.  The change in color was just enough that I had to buy the MTHS gown if I didn't wanna stand out like a sore thumb that's weirdly subtly brighter than all the other thumbs, but similar enough that it felt like I was re-graduating from Ocala.  Especially after seeing all the other Ocalanites being in.. different colors than.. greeeen.

Not that I have a beef with green.  Green is cool.  Green is the way to go!

Anyhoo, I just got home from the last D7 banquet for Key Club, which was admittedly weaker than I expected, although they did try their little hearts out.  The noodle-to-spaghetti-sauce ratio was extremely off, the speeches, although sincere, were very long and bled into dance-time, then there were these evil three lights that refused to turn off during the dance, so everyone refused to dance until the last 15 minutes when they were all "F it, w/e foolz" and danced anyway.  Regardless, I still had fun overall because there were good people there, and I got more fun quality time with Phuc!  :3

I came home to the TV switch-to-digital, and I don't care much for it.  Although only because FOX is now in widescreen.. and now all my favorite programs look smaller.  AHH.

Today's Christa fact: I love Disney temporary tattoos.  :D   I had to rub off my Snow White tattoo at the last minute while I was getting ready for the banquet today, lol.

the light in me will guide you home

    Bye for now!

  • What up!

It is a pleasantly lazy Monday evening, and after more Chem/math reviews, I'm now basically eating the mints that my sister accidentally left here when she visited while waiting for Bones to start on FOX.  >_>

My lazy post-graduation self accepted that I'm not going to be able to review all of Chemistry and Algebra/Geometry/Pre-Calculus in a week, so I rescheduled my UCM orientation date to July 17th, rather than June 26th.  Though I told my roommate that it's 'cos of.. conflicting schedules. Rather than the embarassing truth that it's 'cos I fear the placement test!  >__>!  DON'T TELL DANI!  So while I lost my first dibs on classes, I'd rather have a later dibs on classes rather than get a first dibs on a remedial Chemistry class.  >_>!  *will start buckling down on studying*

    Yesterday was fun at Thanh's graduation get-together!  :O  I learned that Banh Beo is deliciousss and yummy, and remembered how scary skateboarding is, and like Phuc mentioned on twofiddy, I made progress in learning how to ride a bike!  Chau and Sandra and Crystal all whizzed by me while I was learning, though.  Lol!  xd;;

I vigilantly watched a full episode of an anime for the first time in at least three years (Death Note!) and I'm trying to start reading manga again.  >_>!  Cos 1) I'm having my yearly wave of art block again and need some inspiration and 2) It's ridiculous that I draw anime when I haven't watched anime or read manga in ~three years.  Ahh!

    ahhh

Today's Christa fact: I <3 this Keroppi plushie that I've had since the third grade!  He's on my bed right now.  :3

we just feel like we don't have the means to rise above and beat it

    Bye for now!

  • 'Allo!

With my week-long graduation fiesta, yesterday was spent losing $20 at the slots (*sad*) and today was uhh... watching Legend of the Seeker marathon with my mom.  LUL, low-budget celebration, yes.  Guess who turned both her mom and dad into Seeker fans?  Possibly me.  Go me.

I'm at that point that the voice in my head sometimes becomes that of Craig Horner.  However, I watched some of his interviews on Youtube and was just ANGUISHED to realize that while his Aussie accent is QUITE charming, the interviews themselves were so.. boring.  Bless Craig's heart and his amazingly ripped muscles, but he just strikes me as a terribly dull person to be around.  If not for his charming Australian accent.  But what a shame.

Since my AP classes stopped demanding me to lug around three textbooks a day, my upper arms have reverted back into very limp noodles.  ;_;!  Who would imagine that I would actually miss carrying those textbooks around.  I've started working out again though, since summer break has freed up a LOT of time, and my biceps are finally starting to have a touch of a lump!  Tee hee.  I wanna be pretty for Phuc!  :x

But, my days have been made very frequently recently!  Almost all by the works of snail mail.  Snail mail, yay!

A completed goal since middle school: Elimination of my farmer tan on my arms.  Go, even arm tan, go!  However, my legs remain to be excellent potential additions to the Pale Force.  D:

i was crying on the staircase, begging you, "please don't go"

    Bye for now!
